Carbon steel has different corrosion mechanism in different system. The paper used many kinds of corrosion medium to research the corrosion rules and mechanism of carbon steel. The experiments had been finished in oil field water processing station(WPS) online and lab by static weight-loss method. The experiments in WPS included online losing gravity method experiments and simulation experiments in lab. The corrosion experiments of HF had been done in lab by static weight-loss method and electrochemical method. We statistic the corrosion rules and tendency of carbon steel in oilfield WPS and research the corrosion mechanism of carbon steel in HF system. A new corrosion inhibitor had been synthesized for HF system. The main composition of the corrosion inhibitor is ‘ASAT ’.The concentration of HF solution is 1%, 2%, 5%. We controlled the experiment temperature at room temperature, 40℃, 45℃. The corrosion inhibitor had been tested by static weight loss method, Langmuir adsorption isotherm, EIS and polarization curve.Langmuir adsorption isotherm had been used to test adsorption ability of the ASAT on carbon steel. The calculation resulted that the adsorption mode of the corrosion inhibitor is chemisorption with monomolecular layer. And we found that the process is spontaneous in lower temperature and not spontaneous in higher temperature.The result of EIS and polarization curve show that corrosion inhibitor works well in the system of HF. Analysis of EIS and polarization curve show us the corrosion and inhibition mechanism. And we found the corrosion rate is related to the temperature of solution and concentration of HF. The polarization curves show that the ASAT is a kind of anodic-type inhibitor.The data in different temperature show that higher temperature will lead to bigger current density and corrosion rate. The data in different concentration of HF show that higher concentration of HF will lead to bigger corrosion rate. The corrosion rate is related to system temperature and HF concentration.The optical microscope photos show that the uniform corrosion and pitting corrosion are taken place on the carbon steel. And the photos taken by SEM show that needle-like corrosion product piled up on the surface of carbon steel.
