As an important inorganic semiconductor transition-metal oxide,WO3has a broad application prospect in smart-window, display devices,photoelectric switch and information storage, and has drawn vast ofattentions of scientific workers since1950s.The nanoparticle have specialmicrostructure and their small scale effect result in big difference onperformance with macro large size materials,which leads to a widely usein chemistry, physics, electronics, optical, mechanical, military andbiological medicine, etc. And because of the influence on the propertiesand applications of microstructure, size and morphology, we alsoconcentrate on morphology controlling. Nanoscale WO3have size effect,interface effect and macroscopic quantum tunneling effect,which resultin excellent performance magnetic, optical, electric and chemicalactivities. So if we can impose stable influence on morphology on WO3nanostructure, we can improve the applications in various fields.Photochromism is a reversible coloration under lighting irradiation,which can recover under heating or lighting of another wavelength.Because its sensitivity to light and the reversibility, photochromicmaterials have prospects in data storage,displayer,smart window,military camouflage,etc. But in a long period,more attention wereattracted to organic materials. But since Deb’s pioneering work,transitionmetal inorganic photochromic materials is drawing much researchenthusiasm,especially WO3and MoO3.Here we synthesis WO3nanoparticle by hydrothermal with sodiumtungstate as tungsten source and acidized by hydrochloric acid. Dissolvethe precipitation by oxalic acid and adding different reducing agent to get different kinds of productions, and characterized by XRD, XPS, SEM,UV-vis, PL. We find that the blue sample have a better light absorbingand PL emission, and more stable than the industrial productions, whichhas a long-term application prospect.
