Take the antimony containing simulated waste water as the research object, with red mud and chitosan as adsorbent material, through experiments, analysis, adsorption thermodynamics and kinetics of instrument analysis in a comprehensive way, first study the red mud, chitosan, red mud ceramsite (MS) respectively on the water adsorption behavior and mechanism of adsorption of antimony son; and then study the chitosan ceramsite modified red mud (CMS) adsorption behavior and mechanism of CMS on the optimum components and stibium in water. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) The best composite ratio of Red Mud Ceramic (MS) and Chitosan. Have different mass ratio of Red Mud Ceramic (MS) with Chitosan Composites CMS1-1:0.005, CMS2-1:0.01, CMS3-1:0.05, CMS4-1:0.1, take adsorption test on antimony ion solution, through comparison can found that the four ratio of material to the solution of antimony removal rates were83.03%,87.96%,91.75%and88.35%, shows that the best quality red mud ceramsite and chitosan ratio is1:0.05.(2) The optimum adsorption conditions of red mud, chitosan, MS, CMS. At the temperature of298K, at the antimony ion concentration of100mg/L, the optimum dosage of red mud is30g/L, the adsorption equilibrium time is6h, the average removal rate of more than85%; the optimum dosage of chitosan is20g/L, the adsorption equilibrium time is2h, the average removal rate of more than98%; the optimum dosage of MS is30g/L, the adsorption equilibrium time is4-6h, the average removal rate was65%; the optimum dosage of CMS is20g/L, the adsorption equilibrium time is>6h, the average removal rate is about92%. Four kinds of materials are all have good adsorption effect in the alkaline environment.(3) Study on the adsorption kinetics and thermodynamics of red mud, chitosan, MS, CMS. After the analysis, the adsorption process of red mud and chitosan on antimony ions are spontaneous, and it is an endothermic reaction, adsorption kinetics conform to pseudo two order kinetics model, the adsorption isotherms of red mud conform to Freundlich model, the adsorption isotherms of chitosan is both conform to Langmuir and Freundlic model, which is more conform to the former; and CMS on the antimony ion is also a spontaneous endothermic reaction, the adsorption isotherms is in line with Freundlich and Langmuir model, the adsorption kinetics analysis is in line with the intra particle diffusion model.(4) Modification of recycled CMS. Respectively use lmol/L HC1, lmol/L NaOH and deionized water to desorption the after adsorption of antimony ions’CMS, The experimental results show that the adsorption affect of adsorbent after pickling is better than that washing by alkali and deionized water.
