The proportion of fat coal and coking coal which is took as ortho-bituminous coal is small, though coking coal in our country is abundant, so it’s significant to adjust the structure of coke coal, find new coals and use imported coals replace domestic coals. In this paper, we take the Masteel as an example, first, 13 kinds of domestic coals and 4 kinds of imported coals were tested generally, include proximate analysis, bond properties and petrography, secondly, analysis feasibility of gas-fat coal replace fat coal in different blending structure and establish the predicted model of coke quality through 11 kinds of blending coals, then, with the aim to research the coal quality specificity and coking property differences of four Canada coals and four domestic coals, the conventional properties, ability of holding inert component and coal petrography were measured in the paper.The blending coal structure of Masteel is mainly based on 1/3 coking coal and coking coal, compared with same kinds of coals, the caking property is generally better, the coking coal is mainly composed of high-ash coking coal, and the ash content and sulfur content of four kinds of imported coals is lower than intrinsic coals. The difference of substitutability of 1/3 coking coal is little, the strength of cold state has not changed much and thermal property has some little volatility, the sequence of influence coke quality is 1/3JM1>1/3JM3>1/3JM2. When use 12% of gas-fat coal to replace fat coal, its has little impact on coke quality, both of the strength of cold state and thermal property have nochange. The blending coal structure has great influence on coke quality, it’s shown that, when strong-caking ratio around 36%, and middle-caking ratio around 34~37%, the strength of cold state and thermal property can keep within a certain range. The prediction models of CRI, CSR, M40, M10 which is established on the basis of Vdaf、Rmax、S、lgMF all have significant prediction and accuracy is good.The coking property of coals is different as the change of coal-forming process, though it has similar coal rank. The b value and lgMF value of Canada coals is lower than domestic coals, despite their ranks of coal is in the same level, and Canada coals mainly based on matrix vitrinite, and it has more crack and pore in vitrinite maceral, And the result of small coke oven test shown that, when replace domestic high-quality coking coals(10%) and 1/3 coking coal(13%) by Canada coals, the quality of its coke was stable, so it’s feasibly to use Canada coals replace domestic high-quality coking coals and 1/3 coking coal.
