Nano-carbon material is the "stars" material in scientific, due to their unique physical properties, chemical properties, thermal conductivity properties, nano-size, stability became a hot research in scientists, and these properties make them have potential applications in catalysis, carbon nanotubes and graphene is the typical of nano-carbon material. In this paper, the following aspects are discussed and research applications in catalysis:1、This paper studies carbon nanotubes as a support of Ni-based catalysts on the methanation of carbon dioxide.To investigate the influence of different loading, modified methods and different alkali treatment temperatures of carbon nanotubes. A series of characterization measurements have been used in the study, including BET, IR, XRD and TPR. These results indicated that the best preparation condition for catalysts as follows: It can achieve the best aetivity at 10wt%. it is found that the catalyst activity of CNT modified by alkali KOH showed slightly better performance than the CNTs modified by acid treatment. the specific surface area of the carbon nanotube is different with different alkali treatment temperatures, but the effect on the catalytic methanation of carbon dioxide is not much change,this proved that the specific surface area of the support isn’t a key factor for the methanation of carbon dioxide.2、This paper studies the influence of different supports of Ni-based catalysts on the carbon dioxide methanation reaction. A series of characterization measurements have been used in the study, including BET, IR, XRD, TPR and TEM. These results indicated that compared with carbon nanotubes, graphene has a larger specific surface area, When nickel nanoparticles supported on grephene smaller particle size can be obtained,the catalytic activity of using grapheme as the support of Ni-based catalysts for carbon dioxide methanation has shown better reaction performance than Ni/CNTs, and nickel nanoparticles catalysis has better stability.3、Graphene was obtain by different methods reduction of graphite oxide,and different graphene supported nickel was used on the carbon dioxide methanation reaction, the results indicated that grapheme reduction by hydrazine have better activity in this reaction. In addition, this paper also further investigates the effects of rare earth additives on carbon dioxide methanation. It is found that the addition of rare earth in catalysts obviously improves the catalytic activity. After a series of catalyst characterizations, such as BET, XRD, TPR, it is found that the influences of different rare earth elements on catalysts properties is mainly change the structure and electronic properties of catalysts...
