With the increasing requirements of the machining precision and machining quality of the surface, urltra precision cutting processing continuously develop to the level of micro/nano scale, to the level of nanometer atomic accuracy. Micro/nanometric cutting is the development targets and frontier of ultra precision machining technology. On the other hand, the micro nanometric cutting process can meet the processing needs of micro structure and shape, is the important means to reach the ultimate size processing. Micro nano cutting constantly promote development and progress of the technology of the ultra precision machining and micro machining technology. The development and application of ultra precision machining technology and micro machining technology has undergone major changes.in national defense, military, aerospace, microelectronics, precision machinery and instrument, optical engineering, biomedical engineering and other industries They are not only the key technology of manufacturing of high-tech products, but also one of the important technology to get international competitive advantages.The principle and function of micro nano cutting is different with the traditional cutting.The cutting area is small so there are many special phenomena and rules to be further exploration and research. As the micro cutting showes some new characteristics different with the macroscopic cutting, therefore, a new analysis method need to be seek. The molecular dynamics method is an effective method to describe the microscopic phenomena. By using molecular dynamics method can not only get the total analysis system characteristics and some interested behavior, but it also can be as a experiment to be oberved and display Especially many phenomena such as the micro and the atomic scale details,unable to obtain in the actual experiment,can be easily observed in molecular dynamics method. Therefore, the subject.is given to study of nano cutting mechanism of single crystal aluminum based on molecular dynamics method.This paper first analyzes the research progress at home and abroad in the precision and ultra precision processing.Then summarized related key technologies and theories of micro/nano machining, and introduced the basic theoretical framework of molecular dynamics method and the related core technology. At the same time, this paper introduces the finite element method and multiscale method and comparative analysis of advantages and disadvantages of various methods.Using molecular dynamics method and software lammps, The different crystal faces and the different processing direction of single-crystal aluminum nanometric cutting simulation model is established, Consider the different crystal faces, different crystal directions,different cutting speed, cutting thickness, simulated the material of nano scale removal process.Respectively from the workpiece chip formation, cutting force of workpiece materials with different crystal orientation on the nano cutting deformation mechanism, study the influence of cutting speed and cutting depth of material on nano cutting characteristics.This paper carried out the experiment using a nanoindenter nanoscratching, Experimental research on single-crystal aluminum micro nanometric cutting mechanism, include the different crystal and different cutting thickness, different cutting speed. From the characteristics of cutting force, friction coefficient and material uplift and characteristics and other aspects and simulation, verify the regularity and effectiveness of nanometric cutting simulation model and calculation results.
