With the development of human history, carbon has been playing an important role in the development of human survival. Among them, the spherical carbon materials have the advantages of large specific surface area, low density, stable physical and chemical properties and excellent electromagnetic properties. So they have been widely used in the catalyst carrier, the lithium-ion battery cathode materials, pharmaceutical carriers, and high-performance liquid chromatography column packing adsorbent material. Among all the preparation methods for carbon materials, hydrothermal method is often used as a result of its simple operation and good uniformity of product. In this paper, using spherical carbon material as the basic object of study, we focus on hydrothermal synthesis and growth mechanism analysis of micro and nano carbon spheres, preparation of nickel oxide spheres with carbon packaged and preparation of the composite structure of carbon microspheres/silver nanoparticles. And the main research contents are as follows:(1) Hydrothermal synthesis and mechanism analysis of micro and nano carbon spheres: In this paper, we adopt a new experimental technique and use the hydrothermal method to prepare micro and nano carbon spheres with different size and morphology. Through the SEM, we observe the morphology and size changes of the synthesized micro and nano carbon spheres in each set of experiments. Also we research the affection of components of reactants, reaction time, molecular weight of PVP and the concentration to the morphology and size of reaction product. By adjusting the process parameters, micro and nano carbon sphere with regular shape and uniform size distribution are prepared. The growth mechanism of carbon spheres and the changes of the size and morphology along with reaction process are systematic analyzed.(2) Preparation of nickel oxide spheres with carbon packaged:first, three reactants of D-glucose, nickel nitrate and deionized water are used to synthesis nickel oxide spheres by hydrothermal method. Then nickel oxide spheres, glucose and deionized water are used to synthesis nickel oxide spheres with carbon packaged by hydrothermal method. Through the SEM, we observe the morphology and size changes of the synthesized nickel oxide spheres with carbon packaged in each set of experiments. Also we research the affection of reaction time to the morphology and size of reaction product.(3) Fabrication of the composite structure of carbon microspheres/silver nanoparticles: Through the high-resolution magnetic ion sputtering instrument, we sputter a layer of silver films in the surface of nano carbon spheres, and then bake them in an infrared baking system to get the composite structure of carbon microspheres/silver nanoparticles. By regulating the sputtering time, the change of silver nanoparticle size and morphology are researched.
