In the preparation of polymer-based friction materials, materials selection and proportion are variety. Depending on the condition, used, we could select different resin matrix, reinforced fiber and filling element, components and fabrication technology.Phenolic resin(PF) is the most important matrix material used in resin-based friction friction materials. However, phenolic resin-based friction materials can not completely meet the requirements in high~ temperature and high-speed conditions when braking. The purpose of this dissertation is to take MC1833 as polymer-based friction material instead of phenolic resin and add alumina and silica to test the performance of polyimide-based friction materials. The sample adding 15% alumina has high and stable coefficient of friction. The sample of 4% content silica sample has obvious high coefficient of friction and good wear compared with the sample without adding silica. However, coefficients of friction has no obvious change but wear rates improve as the silica content increases further. The sample adding 0.4~ 0.6 mm particle size silica show the best wear rate among particle size of 0.1~ 0.2 mm,0.3~ 0.4 mm and 0.4~ 0.6 mm. The samples adding 6% content silica,14% content alumina and 8% content silica,12% content alumina show higher coefficient of friction at high speeds and the latter has lowest wear rate.
