With the increasing competition in the global market, quality has becomeone of the key factors to build their own core competitive advantages. As one of importantquality tools, SPC has been widely applied in quality management and production process,which has great importance for prevention of quality defects and construction accidents.However, the essence of SPC has not been understood thoroughly, the production processcannot be dynamically and continuously monitored yet, so it just stays in the stage of thepost-test. In the actual construction process, only the field data record is helpful for projectmonitor, the checked-data can only help testing after the project is completed.This paper firstly analyzed current developments and trends in coal mine as well aspointed out the problems and deficiencies that existed in the safe production process.Furthermore, the survey has been done to find out the key factors that influence thequality of management in coal mine tunnel construction process. After that, SPC controlmodel was established according the characteristics of the mine tunnel excavation, themodel is mean-range (X-R) control chart. Then, after the analysis and computation forthe collected data of the Red Rock Mine S680mine tunnel excavation process, combinedwith the sorting of key factors according to the effects that they have on the safeconstruction, the improvement measurements for the accident prevention, safeproduction has been got by fishbone diagram analysis.Finally, the data analysis and computation methods for the Red Rock MineS680ventilation tunneling engineering calculations are summarized, which will providereference for the similar quality projects.
