Combined with the projects of National Basic Research Program of China" The key scientific issues of complex air separation equipment enlarging and low power consumption " (973 Program, No.2011CB706505) and " Identification and extraction technology research on weak shock signal "(No.51275464), this paper analyzes the relationship between geometric errors and turning surface topography, develops a prediction model of turning surface topography, and proposes an error identification method based on turning surface topography. The first chapter explains the background and significance of the research, discusses the development of volumetric errors model, introduces the simulation method of surface topography, as well as the content and overall architecture of the paper. The second chapter develops an integrated error model for lathe based on rigid body kinematics and homogeneous transformation matrix (HTM), which describes the relative displacement error between cutting tool and workpiece in turning process. The third chapter describes a model for the simulation of surface topography in precision turning surface, with the consideration of geometric errors, tool geometry as well as machining parameters. Based on the simulation model of surface topography, the effect of machine tool geometric errors and spindle motion errors on the quality of precision turning surface is analyzed. The fourth chapter analyzes the relationship between turning errors and machining surface topography, and proposes an error identification method based on the turning surface topography. A simulation experiment is carried out to validate the method presented. The fifth chapter develops a simulation and analysis software of turning surface, which can predict the corresponding surface topography under given error conditions and cutting parameters, calculate the surface roughness value, and find principal component error which has the greatest effect on the surface quality. The sixth chapter reviews the full text, summarizes the main contents of this paper, and discusses further research to do.
