The strip buckling phenomenon of longitudinal creases often happens in modern strip continuous annealing production line. The operators traditionally call it "hot-buckling". It causes the strip to be rejected, in the worst case, the strip breaks and continuous annealing set is compelled to stop. According to the prominently random characters that the "hot-buckling" appears, it is considered that over loading of strip tension in a short time is the main reason and perhaps it is one of the most primary reason. The mechanism and the manipulative factors and the restrained measures of the strip buckling are studied profoundly and roundly. The main reason of the strip buckling is that the local tension converged toward the strip central width results in the nonuniform stretching distortion. The relations between the buckling critical condition with the strip specification and the capability of material and the temperature of annealing furnace are studied by the theoretic analysis(repot and apply the theory of wrinkling in sheet metal forming processes). The Marc FEM model is established on the basis of theoretic analysis. The buckling act and the buckling critical condition are full investigated by the numerical calculation. The buckling influential effect relating to many influential factors(such as strip specification, capability of material, temperature, transverse temperature distribution, strip shape, lap weld, roll profile) are full investigatedA enactive tensile stress model of variety strip is set up on the basis of the research harvest and is used in continuous annealing production line.
