Alumina silicate fiber has a good resistant prosperity. It has been applied in many fields. In particular, it can be used not only as heat resistant materials, but also as refractory materials. In this article, physicochemical properties of alumina silicate fiber and sludge of waste paper were studied. The dispersibility of alumina silicate fiber and sludge of waste paper were tested after the pretreatment of deslagging and cutting down. Moreover, the effect of the option of adhesive on fireproof board was studied. Lastly, the structure and mechanism of the composite of alumina silicate fiber and sludge of waste paper were also studied. The detailed experimental contents are followed:Firstly, The concentration of slag ball in the staring material of alumina silicate fiber was conducted, as shown 24.01% on average. As measured, the length of alumina silicate fiber is 1533μm, and the width is 14.8μm on average. Its density is roughly 1.853 g/cm3. Zeta potential of alumina silicate fiber is -26.80mV. Based on that, alumina silicate fiber is a kind of negative charged fiber. It can be concluded that alumina silicate fiber have a good resistance to acid and poor ability to alkali by the measurement of corrosion. According to the FTIR spectra, the non-bridging oxygen bonds exit a lot in alumina silicate fiber. The physicochemical properties of sludge of waste paper were analyzed. The data are followed:pH= 6.55; the concentration of organic substance is 50.05%; the ash content is 49.95%; the moisture content is 73.18%; and the concentration of crude fiber is 38.66%. The size distribution of secondary fibers in sludge is narrow with 56-155μm. The concentration of Calcium, with 15.99% of total elemental concentration, is the highest compared to other inorganic elements. For organic element, Carbon is the highest one with concentration of 9.88%.Secondly, In order to get a better dispersed aqueous suspension, alumina silicate fiber was mixed with water to obtain a concentration of 4% and the blender with a speed of 7000 rpm was applied. Four kinds of surfactants:sodium dodecyl sulfate, dioctylamide sodium succinate, ethylene imine, and polysorbate (Tween) were added to the suspension to find the optimum one. It was concluded that the anionic surfactant, sodium dodecyl sulfate with a concentration of 3%, achieved a good dispersibility. When comes to the water-soluble polymer as the dispersing agent, the optimum concentration is around 0.35%.Thirdly, organic adhesives have a good bonding strength. But it’s high temperature resistant is not good. So it is suitable for below 200℃ environment. Inorganic adhesive has good heat resistance, it is suitable for high temperature environment, but it’s binding effect is poor. It and organic adhesive. Under the low temperature condition, the acrylic resin for aluminum silicate fiber reinforced effect is better. But under the condition of high temperature, acrylic resin will be decomposed. When adding inorganic adhesives, alumina sol disperse effect is better than silica sol and sodium silicate. Compound inorganic adhesive between the aluminum sol sodium silicate,and the optimum ratio of 10:1. In brief, under 200 ℃, choosing the organic adhesives is best, it’s dosage is 25%. More than 300 ℃, using aluminum sol and acrylate resin ratio was 10:1, adding amount of 30%.Fourthly, The addition of recycled fibers and sludge of waste paper was studied in this article. With the increasing dosage of fibers and sludge, the fire resistance of alumina silicate fiber board showed an increasing trend. In contrast to the addition of sludge of waste paper, the addition of recycled fibers gave a higher strength when the used amounts are same. To assure the properties of fire and heat resistance of the board, there is a limitation of the addition of sludge. When temperature below 300℃, the amount should not excess 25%. When it comes to a high temperature,600℃, the limitation of addition is 15%.Finally, Alumina silicate fiber has qualified fire retardance. The fire intoleran temperature ranges from 1000 to 1790, so it is own good fire retardance. Apart from this, it has low heat transfer rate, good heat resistance, thus alumina silicate fiber is the major part of fire-retardant board. A film forms on the fiber surface by introducing adhesive. In a microscope, the film structure forms relative close space between fibers, consequently reducing the fluent of air through fibers, In this way, this kind of closed space made of alumina silicate fiber and waste paper slurry enhance the heat resistance of alumina silicate fiber and improve the fire resistance of alumina silicate fiber product.
