Plastic products manufactured with injection molding machine can be seen everywhere in our daily life, but products with ultra thin-wall, higher intensity and multifunctional characteristic are used in some special area like aviation which become more important. Traditional injection molding machine which provides injection speed less than 300mm/s couldn’t produce these thin-wall products effectively, and the hydraulic ones bring oil pollute without saving power. High speed injection molding machine could not only fabricate high performance thin-wall plastic products with microstructure, but also shorten molding cycle and enhance efficiency. So high speed injection molding process used for producing precise products becomes more important in injection molding industry.A electro-hydraulic high speed injection molding machine was designed in this study, after learning the advanced injection molding process which developed in both here and abroad. This machine was used to molding ultra thin-wall products precisely. The main work about this study are as follows:(1) High speed injection unit was designed in the electro-hydraulic high speed injection molding machine to mold thin-wall products with microstructure The machine was powered by hydraulic parts, and equipped with servo-valve and accumulator to meet the velocity requirement of 800 mm/s. The geometrical model of the components and their constructional relationship was built.(2)Based on the present solution, the injection system was improved for high speed injection molding. The AMEsim software was used to simulate the working situation of injection system, and finally the results was compared to the expectation.(3)The machine was assembled as the designed physical model, then all components were tested, and the sealing and separating performance of two-stages melting system were checked at the same time.(4)According to the supplied mold of light guide plate, the geometrical model of light guide plate was built in Solidworks. The model was used to simulate the injection process in Moldflow. Finally, the injection parameters which had influence on warping were analyzed to get optimal results.(5)Polycarbonate (grade:HL-7001) supplied by Mitsubishi engineering company was used to produce light guide plate. The dimension size is 54.00mm×38.50mm×0.32mm. Filling rate and product performance was discussed by changing injection molding parameters.The designed electro-hydraulic high speed injection molding machine can satisfy the expected demand, after optimizing the component one by one.
