| Biofouling is the biological accumulation of micro-organisms, their metabolites and slime on the solid-fluid interfaces, which is frequently associated with many applications, such as bio-medical sciences, food packaging, water purification and marine industry. However, antifouling coatings synthesized by surface treatment can prevent biofouling adhesion or even kill it. With the development of nonfouling materials, antifouling surfaces with topographic patterning were considered as tremendous potentials materials in the future.The main research contents in this paper are as followed:1. Three kinds of typical coatings are immobilized on the substrate surface, including poly(sulfobetaine methyl methacrylamide) (poly-M1), poly(methoxypolyethylene glycol monomethacrylate) (poly-M2) and poly(perfluorooctyl acrylate) (poly-M3) with different mechanisms on antifouling performances, respectively. The different striped coatings were acquired via using the combination of masks and photo-polymerization. The chemical components and topographic structures of the coatings were characterized by ATR-FTIR, XPS analysis, SEM and AFM images.2. The antifouling properties of three coatings were characterized by FITC-BSA protein adsorption test, E.coli adsorption test and L929 cell adsorption test. The influences of chemical components and stripe widths of the coatings on biofouling adhesion were discussed in the paper, respectively.3. A cell-adhesion model was established via mathematic model and geometric model, moreover, a mathematic function of cellular adsorption quantity was acquired by basic theories of solid-absorption.The main results in the paper are as followed:1.Three kinds of different coatings were successfully immobilized on the substrate surface, and the structure of micro-topography were also controlled via equivalent photomask.2.The antifouling performances were influenced by the component and size of stripe of coatings.3.The experimental data in the paper were well fitted with the cell-adhesion model by the software of Matlab, it is of certain reference value for the series of cell adhesion test. |
