Study On Application Technology Of Methanol Fuel

Due to the increasing application and demand for petroleum fuels, the condition of energy shortage and environmental pollution becomes more serious, therefore people pay more attention to the development of alternative fuels. Due to its clean, economical performance and extensive source, methanol gets the praise highly from people in recent years.The promotion of methanol as automotive alternative fuels has got great achievement. Relatively, methanol has few applications in other fields. Due to the success of methanol applied to the field of automotive fuel, we hope that methanol can be used in more fields. The promotion of methanol as civilian stove burner, boiler and gas turbine has a great practical significance. First, replacing petroleum fuels with methanol fuel can promote the development of the energy diversification and alleviate the shortage of the domestic energy resources. Second, methanol is the fuel of low carbon and environmental protection which can reduce the environmental pollution caused by the petroleum fuels combustion. Third, using methanol can bring economic benefits for enterprises and individuals.Firstly, the paper introduces the research status of vehicle methanol fuel technology, and discusses the preparation and the characteristics of methanol in detail, in order to analyze the advantages of methanol as a substitute fuel.The paper discusses the industry standard for methanol fuel stove, and comparative study the methanol fuel stove fueled with methanol and diesel fuel. The test results show that the thermal efficiency of the stove burning methanol fuel compared to diesel did not fall, and the conventional emissions decreased obviously, but produced a certain amount of formaldehyde emission. The problems emerging in the use and promotion are summarized through experimental results and research of users.The paper also introduces the vaporization combustion technology of methanol fuel boiler, and analyzes the methanol fuel for boiler in comprehensive evaluation through the economy, energy consumption and environmental emissions.Finally, the article analyzes the influence of methanol fuel for gas turbine operating performance, and put forward the improvement suggestions on gas turbine fueled with methanol.
