| The properties of ore which from concentrated overflow water before high intensity magnetic of Sijiaying iron mine are started to investigate. During the experiment of pure mineral and artificially synthesized ore, the best flocculant and experimental conditions are proved, which results in the iron flocculating to the real mineral. The big waste of ore resources is because of the higher iron grade, fine granularity, low pulp density, high content of sludge and other factors. At the end, the experiment results are proved by the mechanism analysis using the Zeta potential and infrared spectra.Test of single mineral shows that selective flocculation of sodium oleate is better than other flocculant. TFe grade of underflow is improved by 5.72% and the recovery rate of underflow increase to 92% under conditions of pulp density 8%, p H 8 and sodium oleate dosage 20mg/L. Test of two minerals of mixed show that chlorite has large impact on hematite settlement by selective flocculation between hematite and chlorite, and ore blending ratio is hematite: chlorite = 4 : 1 in favor of the two separate. The experimental studies show that quartz has little impact on hematite settlement by selective flocculation between hematite and quartz, and hematite and quartz ore ratio is the best feature 5 : 3. Test of three minerals of mixed show that TFe grade of underflow is improved by 6.8% and the recovery rate of underflow increase to 63.50%. The better flocculation effect is produced.Test of Practical ore shows that TFe grade of underflow is improved by5.96% and the recovery rate of underflow increase to 52.17% under conditions of stirring time 9min, stirring rate 1200r/min, p H 8, PVP/SDBS dosage 25g/t, pulp density 8% and sodium oleate dosage 30mg/L. The effect of selective flocculation is better.Zeta potential measurement result shows that PVP/SDBS produces adsorption on the surface of three minerals order is quartz >chlorite >hematite and sodium oleateproduces adsorption on the surface of three minerals order is hematite >chlorite >quartz. The infrared spectroscopy result shows that absorption peak of iron oleic acid is appeared in the hematite infrared spectra after adding sodium oleate. C hemical adsorption is happened in hematite surface. In infrared spectra of Chlorite and quartz after adding oleate, comparison with their own infrared spectra, only a slight shift is produced, so oleate has little effect on them.
