Carburizing as an important means to change and improve the material properties in the automotive, aerospace, and other industries have a wide range of applications. However, the quenching process is a complex, multi-field coupling process, the traditional heat treatment technology can not meet the requirements of modern machinery, application of computer transformation heat treatment has become imperative. In this paper, such a common opening and closing ring workpiece quenching stress and deformation problem, based on the finite element analysis software ANSYS, opening and closing the ring for carburizing quenching process simulation conducted to analyze the distribution of temperature field and stress field and ring opening quenching distortion characteristics.Based on the basic principles of heat transfer, thermal elastic-plastic theory, the theory of phase transitions, using the finite element software ANSYS, numerical simulation of the opening and closing ring carburizing quenching process of temperature field. According to the simulation needs, will simplify the parameter changes continuously carburized layer is a step change, the use of the preparation of the specimen APDL language model and carburizing layer model, the input of various material parameters command stream file, you can easily modify the model and parameters, parameterized simulation analysis carburizing process. Consider the martensitic transformation latent heat, and the simulation results of the temperature field martensite transformation process were predicted.As a result of the temperature field simulation of predefined fields, for opening and closing the ring carburizing quenching process of stress field simulation, analysis carburizing opening and closing ring variation of the stress field throughout the quenching process, and the final residual stress distribution. And the distribution of residual stress field is analyzed to provide a theoretical reference for the determination of the parts carburizing process.The opening ring’s deformation after carburizing quenching were analyzed. To explore the reasons that cause deformation and the species of deformation are observed during the quenching. Observe the quenching process, the deformation of the opening ring under thermal stress and stress generated by joint action. By comparing the simulation results in all directions deformation values, we studied the effects of different quenching temperature and cooling rate of quenching deformation conditions.
