Products are getting smaller and more precise in modern industrial production and modern processing methods are promoted to develop to the direction of fine and high-precision. Micro wire electrical discharging machining(MWEDM) is getting more and more widely used in the field of micro parts because of its advantage of non-contact, high-precision, low processing stress and other characteristics. Control of the gap and pulse generator in Micro-EDM are the key factors of processing speed, accuracy, surface quality and process continuity and stability, which is the focus of this article.This dissertation analyzes and summarizes the current domestic and international research status and development trend of discharging detection and ultrasonic modulate in EDM, firstly. The discharging mechanism of MWEDM and the interelectrode discharge status were analyzed. The mechanism and impacts for discharge channel of ultrasonic modulate pulse discharge were studied. Based on proposed, the discharging status detection scheme combines average detection and real-time detection was proposed, for servo control and pulse power control, respectively. The mechanism and method of ultrasound modulated pulse discharge were explored.According to the theoretical analysis, software and hardware systems in the core of DSP were designed. A microsecond pulse power was achieved. The average detection system could detects discharging state and directs servo feeding accurately. Real-time detection system was able to discriminate each pulse discharge status. Fuzzy control algorithm released dynamic adjustment to the pulse power discharge parameters in the light of fuzzy decision, improving the quality of MWEDM. The ultrasonic vibration was applied to the MWEDM. According to change in the electric field intensity of the gap between the poles and workpieces control pulse power take on or take off. Its working mechanism was analyzed and the processing efficiency and quality were improved.Finally, a lot of experiments were carried out. The technology law of MWEDM, servo reference, fuzzy control optimize the pulse discharge parameters and ultrasonic modulate pulse discharge were studied. Related system parameters were optimized and the quality and efficiency of MWEDM were improved. Micro parts was machined and the good performance and stability of the system was fully verified. The impact for efficiency and quality on MWEDM was analyzed detailed and the method which cloud improve quality was explored.
