The ion exchange method was used to purify the solution in this paper. The Sb, Bi ions of electrolyte were removed by novel acidulous polyallylamine phosphonic acid resin SF-11 chelating resin, and its trivalent metal ion has a good selective adsorption, while the divalent ions are not adsorbed by the chelating resin. The content of Sb, Bi ion significantly decreased after the chelate resin treatment, so that Sb, Bi and As is difficult to form floating anode mud, creating conditions for improving product quality of cathode. Due to the significant reduction of Sb, Bi ion in the electrolyte, the pipeline clogging of antimony, bismuth conduit will decreases.(1) When the Sb and Bi were removed by the SF-11 adsorbent, Sb removal of single-column runing ≥ 95%, double column runing ≥ 99%; Bi single column removal operation ≥ 75%, double column runing ≥ 80%. Therefore, to ensure a high removal of Sb and Bi, double-column operation should be doped.(2) The effective removal of Sb, Bi, Fe3+ and Al3+, while copper and nickel divalent metal ions are not adsorbed at the same time. Therefore, the losing of copper and nickel will not happen by using the SF-11 resin removing the antimony and bismuth.(3) The adsorbent of EDTA can be effectively desorbed the Sb, Bi and Fe3+ on the presence of SF-11, guaranteeing the loop ability of SF-11. When the desorption rate of Fe ≥ 90%, the desorption dosage must reach 13 BV, and the desorption time must more than 13 hours. Therefore, the normal operation of desorption using desorbent 8BV, if the accumulation of Fe impact the absorption rate of Sb and Bi, using 13 BV maintenance adsorption column.(4) The SF-11 adsorbent can effectively remove the Sb, Bi and Fe from de-coppered liquid. The bismuth antimony slag will disappears after removing Sb and Bi. So the SF-11 adsorbent can solve the problem of antimony, bismuth residue clogging pipes of JINCHUAN Company.
