As a new functional materials, Fe-based amorphous and nanocrystalline soft magnetic alloys with the excellent magnetic properties, low-cost,relatively simple production process will play an increasingly important role in power electronics areas, communications, energy and many other areas. They have a lot of excellent magnetic properties, such as high saturation magnetic induction(Bs), high permeability(μ), low coercivity(Hc) and low-loss.In order to expand the alloys’ applications, they should have high Bs. The most effective way to improve the alloys’ Bs is to improve the ferromagnetic elements’ content, such as Fe, Co, Ni. However, the growth of ferromagnetic elements may lead to a drop of the glass forming elements, thus will reduce the amorphous alloy forming ability. Therefore, developing highly Bs, low loss, and strongly glass forming of iron-based amorphous and nanocrystalline alloy is of great significance.In this paper, the Fe-Si-B alloy system were selected as the research object. The alloys’ composition were designed by the element substitution and the increasing ferromagnetic elements, the purpose is to study out high Fe content alloy composition. The amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys were prepared by melt-spinning,the effects of transition metal elements, such as Zr,Nb,Mo and Cu were investigated on the alloys’ amorphous form ability, microstructure, thermal stability, magnetic. And effect of the large atomic Nb was investigated on the alloys’ amorphous form ability and magnetic properties of the high Fe content composition Fe83Cu1Nb2Si2B12.And optimize its magnetic properties by increasing the content of Nb.Fe74Cu1Si13B9M3(M=Zr,Nb,Mo),Fe(76+x)Cu1Nb3Si(11-x)B9(x=0,2,4),Fe(79+x)Cu1Nb2Si(6-x)B12(x=0,2,4),Fe(83-x)Cu1Nb(2+x)Si2B12(x=0,1,2,3) amorphous and nanocrystalline alloy ribbon were successfully prepared by melt-spinning.The microstructure, glass forming ability and magnetic properties of the prepared alloys were studied by XRD, DSC, SEM,TEM,VSM.
