Particulate composites with its characters of strong operability and design diversity, are favored by engineering, which has broad application prospects in the aerospace, national defense, automotive, construction and so on. Particulate composites can be designed and manufactured in accordance with the actual demands, but the stability is often a operational performance which cannot be ignored. With respect to the matrix and the particles, the interphase property is often the key factor in material properties. The polarity difference between the matrix and the particles makes coupling agent or other chemical reagents, which makes the interphase more complicated, be essential raw material to produce particulate composites. In this paper, the main purpose is to study the aging of the interphase between the matrix and the particles, based on the hollow glass microbeads/epoxy composite material. Experimental approach is the main measure to study the interphase aging. Two experiments have been conducted, the epoxy/glass composites destructive experiment to simulate the interphase of particulate composite and the hollow glass microbeads/epoxy composites compression experiment. As the hollow glass microbeads belonged to micron grade particle, the mechanical properties of the composite interphase can only be reflected by the overall performance of the material. In this paper, I use the interphase of glass and epoxy to simulate the interphase of the hollow glass beads and epoxy, with the purpose of measuring the interphase mechanical properties. The experiment is conducted, by the three-point bending and pure bending loading, in the span of a year. I analyze the data and calculate the critical stress intensity factor as the interphase fracture criterion. I conduct the hollow glass beads/epoxy composites experiment, compared with the epoxy/glass composites destructive experiment. The experiment adopts compression loading, continues a year, and conducts five times to collect the data demanding the point-in-time consistency with interphase failure experiment. By analyzing the experiment data, I get the interphase aging information, and compare with the interphase destructive experiment. By means of experimental and theoretical analysis of the hollow glass microbeads composites interphase situation, I get the law of the composites strength variation and the interphase aging, and make simply analysis.
