The photonic crystal can inhibit the spontaneous emission and controlcharacteristics of light transmission, which has important applications in the field ofmicrowave communication, optical communication, integrated optical etc. The filtermade of photonic crystal is expected to have a widely uses in optical informationprecision measurement technology and super dense WDM technology. So this paperdiscusses the mirror symmetrical photonic crystal filter with different structures basedon the transfer matrix theory and photonic crystal optical properties, and analyzes thechange of defect modes in photonic band gap under different parameters, and the maincontents include the following aspects:First, based on the propagation of electromagnetic wave in photonic crystal, theoptical transmission matrixes of monolayer and multilayer delectric are derived. Thetransmission properties of one-dimensional photonic crystal and photonic crystal withmirror symmetry are analyzed using the transfer matrix method. When doped withother medium in the photonic crystal periodic structure, it will appear defect modes inthe photonic band gap, so the photonic crystal with defect layer can make filters.While the media material doped in the photonic crystal have absorption to light, thepropagation characteristics of light in photonic crystal can be affected a certain degree,which leads to the change of band structure and defect modes, but photonic crystalwith mirror symmetry avoids this problem.Next, the transmission characteristics of the mirror symmetry photonic crystal(AB)N(BA)N are analyzed under different parameters. The simulation results show thatthis structure photonic crystal can be used as single channel filter with goodperformance. Similarly, the photonic crystal(AB)N(BA)MB(BA)N can be used asdouble channels filter, and design different filter through different parameters.Finally, the transmission characteristics of the mirror symmetric periodicphotonic crystal(ABA)N are analyzed, found that the structure of photonic crystal canbe used as multi-channel comb filter. Symmetrical structure photonic crystalmulti-channel narrow band filter(AB)NA(ABA)MA(BA)Nis designed based on thisphotonic crystal, and analyzed the characteristics under the different parameters.
