With the progress of science and technology, people are increasingly demanding on the properties of materials. Sandwich structure was born in the 1940 s. Due to the advantages of high specific strength, high specific modulus, excel ent Shock resistant performance, fatigue resistance performance and energy absorption characteristics, Sandwich structure has been widely used in structural materials fields. Sandwich structure is composed of Metal or resin matrix composite panels, Core material and dope. This kind of structure has been widely applied in the field of aeronautics and astronautics, navigation area, cars, etc. With the continuous development of high polymer material, the fiber reinforced resin matrix composite laminated plate, one of the sandwich panel materials, is becoming more and more widely applied. The result of the fire hazard has become an important issue.This thesis is based on the use of the ship composite material, choose glass fiber reinforced epoxy modified resin and ordinary epoxy resin composite material laminated plates as panel material, closed cell aluminum foam as the core material, to study the inflaming retarding and mechanical properties of sandwich structure material. The main contents include:Using heat transfer method, this thesis explores the polymer composite fire combustion characteristic. According to the characteristics of metal foam structure, this thesis represents the closed-cell foam effective thermal conductivity of aluminum. By using drop hammer test instrument, the article studies the sandwich structure low speed impact resistance. By using CONE calorimeter(CONE), thesis explores the flame retardant properties. Of two different surface powder core structure. The thesis also explores the sandwich structure’s remaining strength of low speed impact resistance after one-sided heating, and compares with the performance of the un-heating-damage structure to explore the safety of the structure in fire.Research results show that the modified surface of powder core structure can effectively prolong the lighting time of the structure, lower the heat release in the combustion and flue gas release quantity. Two kinds of sandwich structure, before and after heating the fire, have good properties. Compared with PVC foam sandwich structure, aluminum foam sandwich structure fire retarding performance and mechanical properties have significant improvement.
