Atmospheric suspended particles(TSP) are concerned by the experts of the aboved aspects because of its wide distribution, chemical composition complex, spatial multiplicity in the atmosphere, and the influence on air quality, regional and global climate. They have become the research focus in the field of atmospheric science. Shihezi city is an important city in Xinjiang. In recent years, the economic in Shihezi has developed rapidly and the atmospheric pollution has been more serious. The atmospheric particulates is an important pollutant for the air pollution. However, according to current situation of Shihezi city, the atmospheric particulates pollution, chemical composition has not yet been studied. This study investigated the basic characteristics of several kinds of chemical composition in Shihezi atmospheric particulates, which lay the foundation of further analysis and evaluation of shihezi atmospheric pollution. In this study, five representative sampling sites were chosen by month. January, May, August and October the four months were regarded as the experimental objective in 2014. The feature of atmospheric suspended particulates and heavy metal components, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and its water soluble ions components were deterted about the mass concentration; water-soluble ions, and its possible sources. With the Atomic Absorption Spectrometry, several kinds of heavy metal were tested in collected samples, GC/MS was used to detect the concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in samples. The population density were surveyed in the five sampling points, the south development area and west town were small population density and their TSP mass concentrations variation range were average reached ambient air quality standards of the average daily level(120 μg/m3), Xiangyang street met up to the secondary standards of daily mean value of TSP mass concentration(300 μg/m3), Old street had reached the therd standards(500 μg/m3) or higher. The mean value in Daily TSP mass concentration of the Industrial park had exceeded the maximum limit. TSP concentration in Winter was the highest, the lowest was in summer, that in west of the old town and south development zone were relatively low all year round.Average concentration of Ni was 21.47 ng/m3 in the atmospheric in shihezi, concentration of Cr, Cd, Pb was 60.20 ng/m3, 4.22 ng/m3, 122.38 ng/m3, respectively. the average concentration of Cu,Mg and Zn was 36.82 ng/m3, 2664.99 ng/m3, 246.24 ng/m3 respectively The average concentration of Cr and Cd were less the safe line(100 ng/m3 and 1.5 ng/m3).16 kinds of PAHs had been detected in each season, and the benzo-b-fluoranthene, Benzo[g,h,i]perylene were the most abundant, including Ba P that was strong carcinogenic, the average concentration was 7.68 ng/m3, the level was higher than most of other big cities. PAHs season change was significantly and the maximum concentration was winter. The order was: Industrial park > Old street > Xiangyang street > South development zone> West of the old town. And the concentration of benzo-a-pyrene can indicate the other PAHs.For the water-soluble ions, no source of F- can be produced in Shihezi, SO42-and NH4+concentration were relatively high in the five tested ions. As the industrial zone, SO42-and Cl- were especially high, in which there is not much difference between Xiangyang street and Old street. Concentration of South development zone and West of the old town were similar. Both SO42-and Cl-, NO3-and NH4+had strong correlations of 0.97 and 0.91 respectively. The mass quality of NO3-/SO42-in the atmospheric particulates were all blow 0.5, so the main pollute sources of Shihezi region were stationary sources.
