Six new binary complexes Cr(L-A)3[L=H, 2-OCH3, 4-OCH2CH3; A=2-(COO)C6H4CONHC6H4-,COOCH2CH2CONHC6H4-]and four new binuclear complexes Cr(L-A)3?/2CuX2[L=2-OCH3 , 4-OCH2CH3 : X=C1 , Br] were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared and ultraviolet spectra as well as molar conductors. It is indicated by infrared spectra that in binary complexes coodination occurs through carboxyl oxygen, oxygen of amido. In binuclear complexes coordination occurs through two oxygen atoms, one from that of carboxylate, another from that of amido, and copper atom then coordinates with oxygen atom of alkoxy group in the ligand. The thermal decomposition of complexes is studied by means of TGA-TG. Three ways are adopted to calculate the value of the apparent activation energies, the activation entropies, the order of reactions and frequency factor, respectively. The results show that the order of the thermal decomposition is 1 for all the complexes. Studies of the mechanism of the reactions state that these reactions all fit the kinetic equation: -ln(l- cr)=kt0 The above mentioned three ways of calculating and the studies of mechanism are programmed and the Zsako method is greatly improved.
