According to the fundamental principles of the Information Theory, and Digital lmageProcessing, and Chromatology, this thesis studies the theory and applications of the color imagewatermarking processing. After analyzing the theory and algorithm of the discrete cosinetransform (DCT), the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and the discrete wavelet transform, integrating the Human Wisual System (HVS ) and the texture of images, employing thecharacteristics of multi-resolution analysis of the two-dimension discrete wavelet transform(DWT), the author proposes a theory scheme of an adaptive watermark embedding algorithm. Theauthor embeds a watermark image (binary images, grayscale images or color images, all of theminvolve the information of copyright) into a color image by the algorithm, which ensures thewatermark invisible, and experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is strongly robustto the geometry distortion and the signal processing such as low-pass filter, median filter,Gaussian white noise and JPEG compress. This thesis also explores the method of extractingwatermark and makes the watermark extracted from an watermarked color image attest thecopyright ownership of the image effectively.Based on the theory of the algorithm suggested by the author, with the software" Theprocessing system of color image watermarking" using Visual C++6.0, the author's practice canbe used to solve the matter of copyright and identification in spreading images by Intemet andother digital media. So the work of this thesis is very meaningful and valuable.
