| In this paper, PA6/Si02 and PP/Si02 nano-composites are produced by means of extruder and injection machine. The former is on the base of engineering plastic matrix and the later common plastic. It explored on the composite material the mechanical properties influence, which is brought by the content and surface-treating of Si02 nano-particles, and primarily explored its strengthening and toughening mechanism. Finally the rheological properties of PA6/Si02 nano-composite are studied too. Those results suggest that well surface-treated Si02 nano-particle is a good substance, which can improve the toughness of the two materials, and that Si02 nano-particles in low content can strengthen and toughen polymer simultaneously, and that it is an important factor, which influence the mechanical performance of nano-composite, that Si02 nano-particle acts with matrix and disperses well. The strengthening mechanism is that Si02 nano-particle improve the whole mould quantum and the effect of dispersing stress, while the toughening mechanism is that, when the material is forced, the concentrating stress made by Si02 nano-partiiles cause the cutting bend in the polymer matrix and therefore the whole toughness of the material is improved. In addition, the study on the rheological property of PA6/Si02 nano-composite indicates that the nano-composite melt still belongs to pesudoplastic fluid, its apparent viscosity increases as Si02 nano-particle does, and that when its temperature increases, the apparent viscosity descends, and that the species and dosage of silicane KH-560 influences its flow performance only a little. Finally, this paper summarizes the late development study on polymers filled by nano-particles. |
