Survey and study on references : We have reviewed the synthetic methods of TATB from 1887 to today , introduced the basic principles and arts and crafts routes of synthetic methods of TATB which has chloride, no chloride and those of VNS; pointed out the directions of synthesizing TATB ; reviewed the study evolution of TATB purification and all kinds of methods and technologies of manufacturing submicron TATB, indicated the study direction and concrete research contents and routes of article work. Article topic work: Firstly, we have researched the difficulties of manufacturing submicron TATB and the thermodynamics and kinetics of TATB crystal growth according to TATB molecular structure, its characteristics and those of TATB crystal; designed the principle and theory model of synthetically manufacturing submicron TATB-highly emulsify and fine and synthesize; deduced series formulas of corresponding relations between TATB particle diameter and correlated parameters; calculated the correlated parameters corresponding to definite TATB particle diameter; and concretely showed their relations with charts; by theory demonstration, we have a conclusion: We can control the velocity of TATB crystal growing and synthetically produce submicron TATB with this method. Secondly, we have selected the characteristic surfactant PM which is suitable to control TATB crystal growing through emulsive synthetic experiments with SiBen- 80,QP and PM emulsifier; based on this, concretely researched the optimized experimental conditions of highly emulsifying and fine and synthesizing submicron TATB with two group experiments; and taken a integrated experiment, the particle diameter of submicron TATB synthesized is O.839jtm with purity of 98.3%,the results of elemental analysis approach to theory value, chloride content by elemental analysizing is O.24%,the temperature of DTA exothermic peak is 378.7 C with exothermic peak temperature extrapolated is 367.7t. And then, we have researched the recrystallization and purification of TCTNB intermediate for promoting the purity of submicron TATB, studied the dissolubility of TCTNB in 1 ,2-chlodimethyl and X-ray crystal diffraction of TCTNB recrystal on a few kinds of conditions, selected better recrystalline procession conditions of TCTNB; and tested DTA of TCThB recrystal. At last, the purity of submicron TATB synthesized with TCTNB recrystal adopting highly emulsive and fine synthetic method has been promoted obviously: the results of HPLC show that TATB content is promoted to 99.0%;elemental analysizing approach to theory value very much, chloride content is only 0.16% by elemental analysizing; the temperature of DTA exothermal peak has been promoted to 391 .9C with exothermal peak temperature extrapolated of 378.TC,the temperature of DTA endothermic peak is 486.5 C with endothermic peak temperature extrapolated is 475.8C. A new method of producing submicron TATB has been invented during this article topic researchighly emulsive and fine synthetic method with purity of submicron TATB synthesized is ideal.
