In this paper, distribution of iron powder in polymer matrix conducting composites was changed from random distribution to unidirectional arrangement under magnetic field, and fibriform iron powder was arrayed in the direction of magnetic flux. Mechanical properties and conductivity of the composites were anisotropic. Properties of the composites such as bending strength, deflection conductivity, etc. were remarkable improved in the direction of iron powder arrangement compared with those of pure polymer and composites fabricated without magnetic field. Effects of different weight fractions of iron powder in polymer and different magnetic field intensities on mechanical properties and conductivity of the composites were examined, bending strength, deflection and Young's modulus were performed by four-point bending tests, and fracture surfaces and cross-sections of the composites were analyzed with scanning electron microscope. Influences of fibriform iron powder on conductivity and electromagnetic interference shielding were also analyzed.
