This paper discussed the mechanism, characteristics, development status, scope of application, photocatalytic reactor, and the factors affecting reaction of photocatalytically treating waste water method. It also introduced the preparation of fixed bed catalyst of TiO2. First we used different methods to prepare fixed bed catalysts. Then, we used the fixed bed catalysts to degrade acid grains black/water solution under mercury lamp. It showed the acid grain black/water solution was photolized under the condition of the experiments. In addition, the feasibility the waste water photocatalytic degradation under sunlight was also studied, and the results are satisfactory. At last, though comparing the photodegradation efficiency, photocatalytic activity and the life of fixed bed, we found the two preparation methods was superior to others immobilization of TiO2 on sand and TiO2 catalyst adhered to the cement. We chose the two fixed TiO2 catalysts to degrade waste water in a proper reactor, Meanwhile the study on the relation between the photodegradation and some factors had been undertaken.
