The aim of this thesis is explore the properties and synthesis of third-order nonlinear optical materials for hydrazinecarbodithioic acid phenymethyl(methyl) ester and thiosemicarbazide having carbazol and 4[N,N-Bispropylamino]phenyl. On the basis of investigation and study of a lot of literature , we find that there are many complexes exhibitting obvious Nonlinear optical response. But the complexes which we have synthesized rarely be studied1 Summary2 We use Hydrazinecarboditoic acid phenymethyl(methyl) ester, thiosemicarbazide and N-ethyl-3 -formylearbazole, 4[N,N-Bispropylamino]benzaldehyde as materials to synthesize the ligands HL1, Fill, HL3, HL4, FiJI, FiJI, which are characterized by IR, UV, Elemental analysis, MS, TGA. Crystals of HL2, HL3, HL4, HL5, HI) are Obtained, HL5, HL6have been determined.3 Ni(L1)2 , Cu(L1)2, Pd(L1)2, Ni(L2> , Cu(L2)2, Pd(L2)2, Ni(L3)2, Ni(L4)2 , Pd(L4)2, Cd(L4)2, Zn(L4)2, Ni(L5)2, Ni(L6)2, Cu(L6)2 (M:L=1:2) are prepared, these complexes are characterized by IR, UV, Elemental analysis and TG, electrical conductance and X-ray crystal determination. The crystal structure ofNi(L2)2, Ni(L4)2, Ni(L5)2 have been determined.4. We carry out the reseach of photoluminesceiv ~ of the all complexes and ligand in solid, The result shows that the all ligands and Cd(L4)2 , Zn(L4)2 have the phenomenon of photoluminescence, but the other complexes don抰 have. The third 梠rder nonlinear optical properties of HL2, Ni(L2)2, HL4, Ni(L4)2, Cu(L4)2, Cd(L4)2, Zn(L4)2 were studied. It is found that the samples show the third 梠rder nonlinear optical properties.
