Agricultural non-point source pollution (ANPSP) is a ubiquitous environmental problem nowadays. It directly restricts 'the sustainable development of society and economy in the world and has aroused more attention. In the flourishing southeast region of China, agricultural non-point source pollution is extremely serious. It's very significant in both theory and realism to control agricultural non-point source pollution and protect our ecological environment for realizing the harmonized development of resource, environment and agriculture in China.A detail investigation on ANPSP was conducted in HangJia-Hu water-net plain to understand the status of ANPSP in North Zhejiang Province. The equal-standard drainage capacity evaluation was adopted to evaluate various sorts of pollution sources. Results indicated that the contribution of brute manure, domestic pollution source, runoff and food-supplied fishpond to water pollution load was 43.81%, 29. 91%, 22. 43%and 3. 85%, respectively. Although the contribution of various pollution sources varied between different regions, the top three pollution sources were almost consistent in all 11 cities and counties of Hang-Jia-Hu water-net plain. These results were also greatly supported by a detail case study in Xinda, Pinghu City. Thus we can come to a conclusion that these three pollution sources arethe key factors constraining the sustainable development of the agriculture and environment in Hang-Jia-Hu water-net plain.Based on the understanding of the cause of ANPSP in HangJia-Hu water-net plain, some measures were suggested to control the ANPSP for the harmonious development of economy, environment and society in this region. The concerned measures include the make-up of laws and rules by government, the planning and distribution of stock-raising, the control of fertilizer application, the development of new agricultural techniques, the building of small-town in countryside, and so on. In conclusion, the management of various pollution sources is very important to reduce or control the range of agricultural non-point source pollution in Hang-Jia-Hu water-net plain.
