Soil is the base for vegetation , from the remote sensing image interpretation point of view , soil is the background for vegetation interpretation. So the study on the character and variation of the soil spectrum is not only very important on the investigation of soil resource by means of remotely sensed data, but also for the investigation of vegetation by way of remote sensing data.Since the remote sensing technology came into being , the primary way of collecting data is by vertical detection. So far the character of target object identified by remotely sensed data for different object having different spectrum signature at the spectrum range . But what has been acquired by remote sensing technology is the two梔imensional information of the earth surface , and the interpretation of remotely sensed data is primarily by spectrum character of target object on the presupposition that the target is diffusedly reflective object. With the development of remotely sensed data application , people began to interested in getting more information about the target object , especially the three梔imensional information quantitative information, and so hyperspectral remote sensing and multianglar remote sensing came into being . No matter it is traditional remote sensing or hyperspectral remote sensing, except for intensity^ direction and phrase there still an important perimeter of light -polarization which has not been paid much attention and used for remote sensing . For any object in this world , in the process of reflection scattering and transimission , there will exist polarization which is dominated by its nature, that will provide some important information forremote sensing data. So the study on the polarizaion of target object is very important .Though some work on the specialty of soils spectrum has been done , work on polarized light reflectance feature of soils has nearly been done nothing. For those reasons being listed above , this paper presents a large set of spectral signatures of the polarized reflectance acquired over different agrotype about the soil type, soil granularity and soil water containing with bi-directional reflectance photometer which was invented by engineer Jin^Xinfeng. The structure of this paper is as following : the first chapter is the introduction ; the second chapter is the development of polarized light remote sensing ; the third chapter is the meaning of choosing this topic as my thesis topic; the fourth chapter is the introduction of bi-directional reflectance photometer and the soil samples making ; chapter five is mainly about data acquired over dry soi 1 s and analysis about the signature of dry soils reflectance ; chapter six is mainly about the data acquired over soils with different water containing and analysis about the signature of their reflectance ; chapter seven is mainly about data acquired over soils with different granuality and analysis about the signature of their polarized reflectance ; chapter eight is about the conclusion of the thesis.
