Giant magneto-impedance (GMI) effect is a term coined to describe large and sensitive field included changes in the high frequency impedance of ferromagnetic materials. Since its recent discovery, GMI has attracted much attention owing to enormous perspectives in technological applications, mainly as information storage and micro-magnetic sensors.A method has been developed for electro-deposition of bright and shiny Ni-Fe alloys thin film. A portion of hydrogen brings the counteraction on the surface of Copper cathode in the process of anomalous co-deposition of Nickel-Iron alloys. The results show that the Ni-Fe alloys layer is amorphous. The Giant Magneto-Impedance (GMI) effect is obtained, dependence on the soft magnetic property of Ni-Fe amorphous thin film.In this dissertation, the electro-deposition technology and conditions of bright and shiny, amorphous Ni-Fe alloys, which contains (80- 6) Ni, (20+ 6 ) Fe (0<8<1 ), are derived based on mechanism of anomalous co-deposition and abundant experiments. The influence of GMI effect and soft magnetic property in Ni-Fe amorphous thin film is discussed theoretically and experimentally. A high relative variation in Ni-Fe amorphous thin film is observed with fine softmagnetic property. The main works and results of the dissertation are as follows: 1. Electro-deposition of bright and shiny Ni-Fe alloysConsidering the components and conditions of electro-deposition solution are key to the speed and quality of electro-deposition, two kinds of solution is proposed to discuss. The solution with low salt is adopted based on the consequence of abundant experiments. The electro-deposition technology and conditions are obtained to make shiny, even and fine Ni-Fe alloys thin film. Moreover, technology of experiment can be duplicated. 2. Magnetic property of amorphous Ni-Fe alloys.Ni-Fe alloys in the ratio of 79% Ni to 21% Fe is controlled according to the requirement of the soft magnetic materials. The components and conditions of electro-deposition solution are analyzed and chosen, and the components and property of plating-layer are tested. The high GMI effect in Ni-Fe single-layered thin film and femonickel/copper/femonickel multi-layered thin film with fine soft magnetic property is obtained.
