The multiphase reactor have a lot of advantages such as high coefficient of mass transfer, good performance of mixing and easy to control etc. It has been for a long time since it was used in chemistry industry, biochemistry and petroleum production. In the process of wastewater treatment, the multiphase reactor displays its superiority, recently. In this article, the hydrodynamics of gas-liquid bubble column and gas-liquid-solid fluidized bed has been investigated. The effect of several parameters that often encountered in wastewater treatment on the hydrodynamics has been studied by using chaotic time series analyze and conventional method. A plexiglas column is used as the reactor (Im-high, 0.15m-ID) and the data are obtained through a online system. Kolmogorov entropy and correlation dimension are maculated according to the pressure fluctuation. The effect of surfactant, electrolyte, the size of solid and draft tube are investigated. The result indicate (1) hydrodynamics could be quantified accurately by chaotic time series analyze. (2)the character of water have great influence on the flow pattern and bubble's behavior.(3 )the influence of activate carbon is very complicate, the carbon of small size promote the coalescence of bubbles greatly.(4)draft tube change the flow pattern of fluid greatly which could be utilized to control the flow pattern.
