With the development of the technology, template technique based on bionics plays an important role in making porous materials.Lignin is a natural resource, its amounts are only less than those of cellulose in the earth. But lignin becomes one of the main pollution sources, coming from waste water in the paper-making factory. Effective uses of lignin not only economize natural resources, but also benefit protecting environment. Previously the amounts of POMs used in bleaching paper pulp were plenty, and up to now the problem of circular use of POM has not yet been solved. In this paper we firstly investigate the method that POMs as catalysts degenerated lignin by electrolysis, which can solve the problem of circular use.Furthermore, we decorated lignin by Mannich rection and prepared macroporous Si02 materials immobilizing POMs by mean of sol-gel method and by using lignin as a template. By changing the ratio of raw materials and template, we obtained macroporous SiO2 materials with different diameters of porosity. When template content (weight ratio) is ca. 30%, SEM images showed that pore sizes were in the range of 160nm-500nm with isolate porosities; when template content (weight ratio) is 50%-60%, pore sizes were in the range of 0. 24 m~5. 23 m with continuous macroporous frameworks.
