Waerbome UV-curing systems have advanages of non-coniamination,non-toxicity non-skin initation and safety of production, and become an attractiveresearch and aPpIication areas of UV-curing systems.In this paPer three series of Watrbome UV-curing resins were prepared fromdifferent materials. Epoxy acrylic resin (EA) was synthesized from biphenol A epoxyresin and acrylic acid, waerborne UV-curing Epoxy acrylic resin (EB) wassynthesized through the reaction of EA and maleic anhydride. A new kind of lowviscosity waterbome UV-curing resin (EC) was synthesized from maleic anhdrideand a coInPound with a unsatUrated grouP and a hydroxyl grouP. A new kind ofwaterbome UV-curing polyUethane acrylate (PUA) ionomer prepared frOmtoluene-2,ff-diisocyanate (TDI), polytoropylene glycol) (PPG), 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate (HEMA) and a comPoUnd(DHAO) Which had a carboxy and tWohydroxyl grouPs. Fourier transfOrm infrared (FTIR) spectra demonstrated theformation of the above tbIee kinds of resins. Both the optimum conditions of thesynthetic reactions and the effects such as hydrophilic group conient, nendalizationdegree and resin concentration on emulsion were studied on the above mentionedresins. The effects of the type and conceniration of photoinitiator, neutralizationdegree, nelltralization agefit type, drying and sttucfore of the prepolymers on curingrate were discussed in detail.The properties of UV-cured films of PUA were also determined. The resultssuggested that'with the increasing of colltent of hydrophilic groups, neutr8lizationdegree and hydrophilicity of molecular chains, particle sizes decreased Whereas boththe dispersability and stability of emulsion improved. Wth the increasing of resincontent of the emulsion, both the disPersability and stability of emulsion imProvedand at the same time the viscosity increased raPidly As for the above three kindsprePolymers, the I-3 photoinitiator was preferred Which had high initiation efficiencyand had excellent comPatibility with these resins. The films curing rate is the fastestWhen the content of I-3 photoinitiator betWeen 3.0% and 4.0%. The filIns curing rateincreased with the increasing of the neutralization degree or drying in advance. WhnAMP-95 was served as the neutraliZaion agent not only the curing rate was faserthan that of triethylamine and triethanlarnine but also the cured film was not easy tobecome yellow As for the PUA films the resultS showed that the films'hygroscopicity improved with the increasing of the carboxyl grouP in the molecularchains. The tensile strength of cured films decreased Whereas the tensibility at breakincreased with the increasing of the reaction mole ratio of PPG/ DHAO (the moleratio of TDMMA was invariable) or PPGMEMA (the mole ratio of TDI/ DHAOwas invariable).The results of the aPPlied research for the EB, EC and PUA resins showed thatboth a new ldnd of Watr based vahash with excelleni comPrehensive proPertiesWhich was made uP of EB and EC resins (ECffiB=l5%-20%,Wt%) and a new ldnd ofwood floor coating with excellel1t comprehensive properties was made uP of EB andPUA4# or PUA6# resin (PUMiB=2 0%- 3 0%,wt%) by mixing their emulsions.
