According to the characteristic and demand of continuous casting, the paper has set up a whole experimental system for heat physical simulation of continuous casting in the lab. The cooling part including the copper mold at the first cooling zone and the water loop at the second cooling zone, the driving part, the measuring and the controlling part have been designed and completed respectively. Elementary experiments have proved that the experimental system has run steadily and safely, and all the parts have been cooperated in harmony, so it may fulfill simulation research in continuous casting. The paper has developed the measuring and controlling system for heat physical simulation experiments in continuous casting, which is to measuring and controlling flow of the first cooling zone and the second cooling zone. Besides, auto control of casting speed has been implemented by setting up the casting speed controlling system. The paper has does some elementary experiments by making use of the experimental system. The main researching works are as follows:1. On the basis of experiments, research the relationship between surface temperatures of ingot at the end of copper mold and technology parameters such as casting speed, cooling water flow.2. On the basis of experiments, research the relationship between solidified shell thickness at the end of copper mold and technology parameters such as casting speed, cooling water flow.3. Research the distribution of second cooling water flow on the ingot surface, and ascertain the relationship between cooling homogeneity at the second cooling zone and quantities, sizes, relative position of nozzles.
