According to the theory of molecule design , Ploy(ammonia methacrylate - co -methyl methacrylate) are prepared with monomers of methacrylic acid (MAA),methyl methacrylate (MMA) and ammonia (NHa). The copolymer can be soluble in water and thermal degradate completely, which will be good ceramic binder. The copolymer are synthesized in aqueous solution using (NH^SiOg-NaHSOs redox initiation system and triethanolamine(TEA) of surfactant. The effects of the content and ratio of monomers, monomer concentration, the content of initiator, NHa and TEA, temperature and time of reaction and disposal on the relative molecular weight(M,,) are studied. The results show that Mn is up to nine hundred thousand when MAA '. MMA is 10 I l(wt),solution concentration is 40%(wt),the ratio of initiator and TEA to MAA is 0.44% and l%(wt), MAA I NH3 is 1 I l(mol) and the reaction processes 6-7 hours at 60癈.The thermal degradation of the copolymer are researched using Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA) .TGA results show that the thermal degradation of the copolymer is 98% in N2 and almost 100% in air. In addition, the copolymer are used to bond ceramic powder. The effects of molding technics on intention of ceramic flan are studied. When the content of copolymer is 3.5%(wt),molding stress is lOOMPa and keep 10-20 minutes ,ceramic flan intension is up to 44MPa.
