The derivative of 1,10-phenanthroline: (1, 10-phenanthroline 5',6' )-(phenazine2" ,3" )-(2, 3, 5, 6-pyrazine), which can be used as the novel ligand of DNA probe, has been synthesized. Its structure was characterized by FT-IR, UV-vis, NMR and XRD. The thermal decomposition mechanism of the1, 10-phenanthroline and its derivatives have been investigated by the method of theory combining with experiment. 5-nitro-l, 10-phenanthroline 2, 3-diamino-phenazine and (8-hydroxy) quinoline with copper complex have been synthesized and their crystal structures have been determined by X-ray single-crystal structure diffraction. Based on the INDO/SCI method, the dipole moment and the nonlinear second-order polarizability of (1, 10-phenanthroline 5 ' , 6 ' )- (phenazine2" , 3" )-(2, 3, 5, 6-pyrazine) were calculated by using MOPAC program. The calculated results indicate that these molecules which use (1, 10-phenanthroline 5 ' , 6 ' )- (phenazine2 " ,3 " )-(2, 3, 5, 6-pyrazine) as the conjugation bridge have higher second-order nonlinear optical polarizability. The interaction between the Ru(C) (L)[C=(1, 10-phenanthroline 5 ' , 6 ' )- (phenazine2 " ,3 " )-(2, 3, 5, 6-pyrazine) , L=2, 2 ' -bipyridyl] and DNA has been studied. The results indicate that: The intercalation on major is dominant.
