Based on review of processes to synthesizing pyrrolidine, the process which starts from tetrahydrofuran (THF) and ammonia has been studied in this thesis. Performance of three types of catalysts (silica-alumina catalyst, HZSM-5 zeolite and alumina catalyst supported by Metal Chloride ) was assessed and compared, and affects of temperature and space velocity to performance of catalyst were also studied. In the experiment, the impact of ratio of silica to alumina for HZSM-5 zeolite was investigated as well. For the catalysts of sih'ca-alumina catalyst and HZSM-5 zeolite, deactivation with time course of the reaction was studied. The studies indicate that HZSM-5 zeolite with a ratio of silica to alumina of 70 is a proper catalyst for the process, and the optimum reaction temperature and space velocity can be selected at 240℃ and 60g/hr.mol, respectively. The mechanisms of forming both high boiling point by-products and low boiling point by-products have been discussed in this thesis.
