Methods of enhancing comprehensive properties of short fiber reinforced rubber composites (SFRC) were systemly summarized and researched, based on my advisor Prof. Zhou Yan-hao and his graduates' work. Effects on properties of NR/SBR/PA66 compound of modified rubber such as ENR-50, MG49, EPDM-g-MAH and NR-g-MAH were investigated, besides utilizing pretreated short fiber and adhesive agents, so as to improve the adhesion on the surface between rubber and short PA66 fiber. First, MAH grafted NR was made by myself using Brabender Plasticord from South China University of Technology, while other modified rubber was procured from certain organizations. Second, measurements of properties of NR/SBR/ENR-50/ PA66, NR/SBR/MG49/PA66, NR/SBR/EPDM-g-MAH/PA66 and NR/SBR/NR-g-MAH/PA66 vulcanized rubber were carried out. In the end, data from experiments were represented with computer software, so as to explicitedly and precisely analyse diversities and regularities of them to advise for efficient ways.It was shown that progress of certain properties of SFRC was attributed to the application of modified rubber with suited short fiber employed. Based on the recipe of vulcanization of heavy load tire in NK002-64 standard, new vulcanization applied 20 phr EPDM-g-MAH and 10 phr untreated polyamide66 short fiber, when its hardness was the greatest; while applied only 20 phr ENR-50, its tensile strength was the greatest; while applied 20 phr NR-g-MAH and 10 phr treated DN66-1 polyamide66 short fiber, its 100% modulus was the greatest; while applied only 10 phr MG49, its elongation at break was the greatest; while applied 10 phr EPDM-g-MAH and 10 phr DN66-1 polyamide66 short fiber, its tear strength was the greatest.The next work is how to arrange the modified rubber and PA66 short fiber for improving the properties of SFRC.
