The pollution of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) is receiving more and more attention. Among current technologies for controlling VOCs, pulsed corona discharge technology has been showing its nice future.Experimental research on destroying VOCs by pulsed corona is discussed in this paper, which including toluene, butanone, and toluene-butanone that is selected as representational matter of mixing VOCs. The samples are analyzed by gas chromatography (GC), that VOCs are absorbed by a kind of solvent, using this method, the research examined are the influences on the removal efficiency of VOCs by concentration, input voltage and pulsed peak voltage. In addition, the products have been analyzed. The researches show:The removal efficiency of VOCs changes when the inlet concentration, the input voltage or the pulsed peak voltage changes. However, the effect of each factors has different extent of the removal efficiency.Compare with single VOCs, each factors has consistent influence trend in the removal efficiency of toluene and butanone, which exist in mixing VOCs.In contrast to single VOCs, the removing of toluene and butanone has unfavorable effect upon each other, which exist in mixing VOCs, for molecules of each VOCs demand electron, then odds of each molecule colliding with electron minish.Using n-Hexanol as absorbent, a sort of absorbent absorbing toluene-butanone is realized. The products have intricate species, which have been analyzed by GC/MS.
