Engineering plastics are more and more being used in the automobile industry, mechanism industry, electron andelectric industry, communication industry, chemical industry and daily consumable field. Engineering plastics and improved engineering plastics substitute traditional metal material and thermosetting plastic. Co-polycondensation method is one of the most important methods to modify polyamine material and obtain high performance materials.Dendrimer is the newly developed polymer that has three dimensions and high order. Poly(amido amine) dendrimer, whose molecule core and terminal have a great deal of strong polarity amine bond and active amido, is one of the most important dendrimers. Low generation of Poly(amido amine) dendrimer is the broad and loose structure . These particular structure and property can bring important role into the process of polymer material. In this paper, these particular structure and property of Poly(amido amine) dendrimer are used to modify Nylon 6. Firstly Poly(amido amine) dendrimer which has active terminal amido is synthesized and the synthesis technology is optimized. And Nylon 6 with a certain molecule weigh, which terminal is single carboxyl, is synthesized. Dendritic Nylon 6 is synthesized by the synthesized poly(amido amine) dendrimer reacted with the synthesized terminated Nylon 6 which terminal was single carboxyl. The character and synthesis mechanism of Poly(amido amine) dendrimer are discussed. Such influencing factors as reaction temperature, reaction time and mole ration of reaction compound to synthesis are investigated. The synthesis condition of poly(amido amine) dendrimer is conformed and optimized. The analysis by IR and NMR show that the synthesized poly(amido amine) dendrimer has active terminal amine.Secondly, such influencing factors as polymerization temperature, polymerization time and the amount of water to synthesize single-carboxyl terminated Nylon 6 with a certain molecule weigh is investigated. The analysis by IR andmolecule weigh show that the synthesized Nylon 6 has single carboxyl and certain molecule weigh.Lastly, SEM observation, mechanical measure.and thermal synthesis of PA6, PA6-G1-PAMAM and PA6-G2-PAMAM show that the synthesized PA6-G2-PAMAM is dendritic Nylon 6 that emanate from a central core and has sphere structure, stable thermal performance and good mechanical performance. This dendritic Nylon 6 has the same mechanical performance as linear Nylon 6, however, its melt viscosity is obviously lower than the linear polymer and glass transformation temperature Tg is higher 21C than linear Nylon 6. Such dendritic polymers should provide advantages in processing such as easier injection molding, blending, lower processing pressures, and processing of higher molecular weight materials.
