Continuous plastics pipe cutting is the necessary process for theproduction line of plactics pipe extruding. There are great needs inpraction to promote the automatic degree and cutting precision of thedevice for the utilization ratio of raw material, the output and qualityof the pipe. Based on the project of cutting machine of plastics pipes,this paper analyzes the factors affecting the precision of fixed-scalecutting theoretically and concretes the design and realization ofcontrol system of cutting. The precision control of fixed-scale cutting of plastics pipeconcerns the technology of many fields, including stability of haulingspeed, mechanism system of cutting, dececting of velocity anddisplacement of pipe walking, synchronous control of velocitybetween the drawing and knife rest. In the design of controll system,the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is adopted as the maincontrol unit, which provides us good precision of cutting.Measurement of speed and displacement of pipe walking is finishedby photoelectric encoder. The servo is used to achieve synchronousvelocity between the drawing and knife rest. The system operates steadily in extruding production line forplastics pipe.
