The new type of catalyst SO42/ZrO2 has some advantages over the traditional liquid catalysts, such as higher surface area and higher activity, selectivity and reusability. We can get the better prepared condition of the superacid catalyst SO42/ZrO2 for the synthesis of Octyl-Polyglycoside through the mathematics way of orthodoxy design. Through the experiments, the best prepared conditions of the superacid catalyst SO42/ZrO2 for the synthesis of Octyl-Polyglycoside are followed: (1 )PH=9.5; (2) calcined temperature at 500 ?; (3) M (H2SO4) =0.5mol/L. Using this kind of catalyst, the conversion of glucoside may reach as high as 96% in the synthesis of Octyl-Polyglycoside and the selectivity is very high for the synthesis of Octyl-Polyglycoside.The catalytic activity of the composite superacid SO42-/ZrO2-MoO3, SO42-/ZrO2-Fe2O3 and SO42/ZrO2-SiO2 were studied too in this paper. The addition of MoO3, Fe2O3 and SiO2 had important effects on the activity of SO42-/ZrO2. The acid strength was improved largely in these kinds of the composite catalysts.The paper applied the analytical method of IRn SEIVh and XRD into obtaining the features and structures of the solid superacid SO42-/ZrO2 and their activity of the composite catalysts. Finally, the model structure of SO42-/ZrO2 was giving. In this paper, the using of SO42-/ZrO2 catalyst for the synthesis of APG can solve the faults of liquid catalysts.
