The paper studies the basic theory of bottom-water oil reservoir, and discuss the shortage of commonly methods of controlling water coning, and the impossibility of using Weak Gel (WG) profile modification and flooding. According to the characters of Luliang oil field h23 bottom-water oil reservoir. The WG system and blocking agent fitting Luliang h23 bottom-water oil reservoir was developed. The performance of the WG prescription was valued through reviewing Gel time, WG viscosity and strengthen, Screen factor, Transition Pressure, Pore resistance factor, and so on. The paper discusses the effect of the injection point, slug size on performance of WG profile modification and flooding with liner sand packer mode experiments and brought forward the mechanism of WG profile modification and flooding. The physical simulation experiments of WG profile modification and flooding were carried on the mode of bottom-water oil reservoir and the permeability ratio, the thickness ratio of oil zone and water zone, the viscosity ratio of oil and water, the performance of WG were studied in this article. The studies show that WG techniques not only do well in profile modification and flooding but controlling bottom water coning. The results indicate that the compound method which takes step both on water well and oil well is better than either one.
