In recently years, People take more attention to the study of natural biodegradable materials with the improvement of consciousness of protecting environment, this paper describes the history of its development, synthetical methods, spinning, properties and applicable field of PLA fibers, this paper mainly have studied the biodegradable properties of PLA and discussed the factors that influent the biodegradable properties of PLA . this paper also have studied the different environment that work on the properties of PLA and the micro-structure of PLA. However, because the hydrolysis of PLA is difficult in natural environment, this paper studies a new core-sheath conjugate fiber that was obtained through various biodegradable PLA and PGA conjugate spinning, and analyzes the basic physical properties and biodegradable properties of conjugate fiber. Since PGA is more highly degradable than PLA, PGA can be first hydrolyzed to glycolic acid in the PLA/PGA conjugate fiber. The glycolic acid first liberated can work as the acid catalyst in hydrolysis of PLA, so accelerate the hydrolysis of PLA. The data have testified the idea that the degradable ratio of conjugate fiber increase with the increase of PGA.In manuscript, the present situation and the significanceof the biodegradable fibers are introduced in the first chapter. In the second and third chapter this paper analyzed the basic properties and the factors that influence the degradable properties of PLA. In the forth chapter it present the idea of conjugate spinning to the defects of PLA, and studied the spinning process of conjugate fiber and tested the basic properties of conjugate fiber, it also studied and analyzed the degradable properties conjugate fiber. In the fifth chapter some ideas of application of PLA is presented.
