Along with the national economy's rapid development and the rapid improvement of the people's living standard, automobile been common for the average families and requirement is increasing. As we know, the core of a car is the engine and the core of an engine is the valve. Because of the development of automobile industry, the quantity of a valve in an engine has increased from two to sixteen. Then the need for the amount and type of the valve has grown up, at the same time, the valve's quality is demanded more highly. But our industrial standard is a bit lower than the foreign countries, for example, the technique of electrical upsetting is poor, which leads to the lower efficiency, resource wasting and high cost. Therefore, it's urgent to improve the technical standard by making the electrical upsetting process more automatic and intelligent.Concerning with the conventional type of Electrical Upsetting Machine and the newest domestic and overseas control scheme, the paper present an Intelligent Electrical Upsetting Machine with Real-Time Control for Valve and the Fuzzy PID Control Algorithm for Heating Current. The main facilities of the control system include the higher level and lower level Yanxiang industrial computers and Mitsubishi PLC. The different level industrial computers communicate with each other by a self-designed serial protocol that has the verification. The PLC connects with the lower level one in parallel through the I/O card. The higher level one uses the WINDOWS OS, charges for the data display and the Save-Load function with database. The lower level one uses the DOS OS, which is designed to sampling the sensors and control the speed, pressure, and heating current for the electrical upsetting process. The PLC has the logical control function and photoelectricity insulation function to assure the system's reliability. And the whole system has three modes, Manual, Half-Automation and Automation. It's digital, graphical, more suitable for operating and powerful in dealing with the data. That is different to the conventional machine.
