In this thesis, nanosized Silicon Carbide was coated by sol-gel and heterogeneous nucleation processing method respectively . TEM> IR and XRD micrographs showed the coating materials, which nucleated and grew on the surface of nano~SiC , did not exist in the form of sol particles in solution . Compared with the above two means, the heterogeneous nucleation processing method was better than sol-gel. Diethylene glycol and paraformaldehyde was synthesized with P-Toluene sulphonic acid as the catalyzer. Acetals was grafted onto the surface of inorganic nanosized Silicon Carbide particles. The structure and characteristics of modified silica were studied by contact angle, sedimentation, FT-IR, TEM, TG, XPS et al. The results indicated that grafting ratio onto the surface of inorganic nanosized Silicon Carbide particles was effected by temperature and it was observed that 120°C was the optimum. This possess improved dispersion behavior and compatibility with POM. The modified Silicon Carbide particles was filled to POM. It was indicated that the mechanics behavior, frictional and thermodynamic properties were improved. Compared with pure POM, the nanocomposites possessed desired properties, such as increased thermal stability. The tensile strength and hardness of POM composites were also enhanced. It was found that the properties of POM composites were changed with the filling ratio. Comparison of the general properties of POM composites, there is a best filling ratio of nanoparticle for POM.
